Board of Assessors ratifies votes after Open Meeting Law violation

Longmeadow Board of Assessors unanimously ratifies votes from prior meeting with posting violation. The Board voted to ratify all votes from its March 27 meeting, which had been posted only 47 hours in advance instead of the required 48 hours under the Open Meeting Law. Principal Assessor Maria Cataldo consulted the Attorney General's Office, which recommended public bodies attempt to remain open and transparent.

The Board also unanimously approved uncollectible excise tax schedules for deceased residents and set public comment at three minutes per speaker.
