Town Manager Budget Task Force · Meeting of June 22, 2026

Longmeadow forms inaugural Budget Task Force. The Town Manager Budget Task Force held its inaugural meeting on June 22 with Town Manager Lyn N. Simmons, Finance Director Ian Coddington, and Superintendent Marty O'Shea to examine long-term budget pressures.

The task force will proceed through three phases—gathering financial data, modeling potential budget paths, and finalizing recommendations—reporting findings to the Select Board, Finance Committee, and School Committee in December. Although technically exempt from Open Meeting Law, the group committed to full public transparency, including posting meetings 48 hours in advance, recording all sessions, and publishing documents. Leadership elections were postponed to the June 30 meeting for fuller representation.
