LONGMEADOW — Community Preservation Committee heard two spring funding applications and deferred votes to late summer. The Longmeadow Historical Society requested funding for Phase 2 of the Storrs House Museum collections preservation project, which involves cataloging and digitizing over 10,000 historic textile and clothing pieces; applicants identified approximately 76 full days of consultant and volunteer effort as an in-kind match. Tom King, Chair of the Historical Commission, presented the Longmeadow Historic Preservation Plan and Cultural Resource Inventory application, an 18-month project to update the town's 1988 preservation plan.
Committee Chair Steve Weiss reported the Library Feasibility Study is complete and the Library will likely request project funding soon to implement findings.
