LONGMEADOW — Council on Aging approves FY27 budget with increased support staff. The board, chaired by Candace Serafino with Vice Chair Sandra Macfadyen and Secretary Judith DeLong, approved the FY27 budget with level-funded nutrition services and increased support staff positions, incorporating revolving funds and donations. Members also voted to name the fall fashion show fundraiser "Rock the Runway," a $5-admission Alzheimer's awareness event set for October 7, and designated the Adult Center's second-floor bathroom and shower area for emergency and personal accident use only.
The board acknowledged the passing of Elizabeth Tyson, a longtime COA secretary, and the resignation of John Glenn, leaving at least two board vacancies as the FY27 budget takes effect July 1.
