Council On Aging Board of Directors · Meeting of January 15, 2026

LONGMEADOW — Council on Aging Board launches nominating process for 2026 leadership elections. Board Chair Candace Serafino's term as chair expires this year, prompting the nominating committee to begin work on identifying candidates for a smooth transition. Adult Center Director Jim Leyden requested increased FY27 funding to address staffing challenges in the kitchen and seasonal food pantry operations.

The board also heard from Jill Strain, who presented Western Mass Wheelers, an adaptive-bike program that has already served seniors in local residential communities, with a planned ribbon-cutting event May 7 in East Longmeadow.
