LONGMEADOW — Task Force sets final public forum date and moves to financing phase. The Future Building Use Task Force designated September 12 as its last community forum before drafting its final recommendation on municipal building uses. Chair Paul Dunkerley reported positive feedback from a recent presentation to the Select Board.
Assistant Town Manager Michael Barbieri outlined plans to notify approximately 75 abutters within 500 feet of the town's buildings and reported the town's insurance provider is struggling to obtain building quotes. The Task Force discussed multiple funding models, including a public-private "waterfall" partnership that would preserve municipal ownership while enabling private-sector investment.
