Historic District Commission approves four residential applications
Historic District Commission · Meeting of April 14, 2026
Longmeadow Historic District Commission approves four residential applications. The commission unanimously approved garage door replacement at 931 Longmeadow Street and three applications at 1028 Longmeadow Street for homeowner John Robbins—kitchen window replacement, mini-split air conditioning installation with concealment features, and kitchen and roof ventilation systems. The commission received a presentation on a Center School project to replace over 350 windows and exterior doors through the Massachusetts School Building Authority Accelerated Repair Program, with over 50 percent of project costs expected to be reimbursed and a formal application to follow.
Three Glenbrook Middle School eighth-graders presented a civics project requesting the commission reconsider restrictions on residential solar panel installations, proposing new solar panel shingle technology as an alternative.
