Historic District Commission plans Local Certified Government resubmission, recruits new members

Longmeadow Historic District Commission regroups on failed certification. The commission unanimously approved its February 10 meeting minutes and discussed resubmitting its Local Certified Government application after learning that members must each provide individual "resumes" demonstrating historical-preservation knowledge and skills, a requirement missed in a previous failed attempt. Katherine Dressel, coordinating the reapplication effort, recommended closer collaboration with the Historical Commission, and Chair Sarah Morgan said members could choose their involvement level.
The commission is recruiting new members with four applications received to date, and the Select Board is considering adding HDC term-limit removal to May's town warrant.
