Longmeadow Council on Aging Board will incorporate new sheriff's wellness check-in program for seniors. The initiative, called R U OK from Hampden County Sheriff's Department, provides regular wellness check-in calls to at-risk seniors. Fire Chief John Rigney briefed the board on emergency management improvements, reporting the fire department has added two staff members, launched a drone program for search and rescue with five drone pilots on staff, and is expecting a new fire truck this summer.
The Nominating Committee presented a slate of officers for vote in May: Sandra MacFadyen for Chair, Stephen Gelling for Vice Chair, and Judy DeLong for Secretary. The board formed a subcommittee to plan an Adult Center 5-Year Celebration on November 4, 2026.
