LONGMEADOW ENERGY COMMITTEE PURSUES SPECIALIZED CODE, EXAMINES ARTIFICIAL TURF

LONGMEADOW — Energy Committee pursues specialized opt-in building code adoption and artificial turf concerns. The Energy and Sustainability Committee unanimously approved January 8 minutes and assigned members to advance adoption of the specialized opt-in code, including scheduling a Select Board presentation and coordinating with the Planning Board. The committee reviewed its Plastics People film presentation, which drew 80 to 100 attendees, and discussed environmental and microplastics concerns related to Middle School artificial turf plans, with a school board presentation scheduled for March 31.
