Longmeadow Planning Board opens public hearing on major middle school building project. The Planning Board opened a public hearing for the proposed Middle School Building Project at 410 Williams Street, involving demolition of the existing building, new construction, and an athletic field, with review to continue April 15, 2026. The applicant team presented site plans addressing traffic, parking, pedestrian access, landscaping, and drainage.
Board members questioned design elements including landscaping maintenance, roof durability and solar readiness, and athletic field lighting. The Board unanimously voted to amend Planning Board Rules and Regulations adding a $100 site and design review fee for accessory dwelling units, and voted to send proposed changes to the Sign Bylaw to Annual Town Meeting 2026.
