Pool project delays prompt resident concerns at Parks Commission

LONGMEADOW — Parks and Recreation Commission hears resident Tom Shea on pool upgrade delays. Tom Shea, a resident of 81 Green Meadow Drive, addressed the Commission during public participation, noting that about 52 percent of a $1.6 million pool upgrade fund approved in 2023 remains unspent with pools set to open in approximately 60 days and no work yet completed at either facility. He recommended inviting the Department of Public Works Director and Town Manager to provide updates on the project and to discuss athletic facility arrangements during the Williams Middle School closure.
The Commission unanimously approved prior meeting minutes.
