Select Board · Meeting of August 17, 2026

LONGMEADOW — Select Board approves committee reappointments and receives renovation presentations. Chair Dan Zwirko and the four-member board voted unanimously to reappoint Matthew Schoen, Augusto Bairos, and William Welch to the Audit Committee, Board of Assessors, and Community Preservation Committee, respectively, and appointed Michael Swirsky and Jane Crosby to new three-year terms. Storrs Library Director Jean Maziarz and architect Phil O'Brien presented a feasibility study identifying 11.99 million dollars in construction costs for a single-phase renovation beginning in 2027, or 14.96 million dollars for multi-phase work through 2035; the Library has applied for a 250,000 dollar state ADA grant and raised over 300,000 dollars privately.

Future Building Use Task Force Chair Paul Dunkerly presented a preliminary recommendation to issue a non-binding Request for Future Use for Old Town Hall to solicit developer concepts without a formal RFP/RFQ.
