Select Board · Meeting of September 28, 2026

LONGMEADOW — The Longmeadow Select Board voted unanimously to activate electric vehicle charging stations and reschedule the Fall Special Town Meeting for December 1. The Board approved a charging rate of $0.40 per kilowatt-hour for level 2 stations at the Department of Public Works and Adult Center, effective upon activation in the Volti system, replacing the previous $8.00-per-hour time-based rate. Energy Manager Amir Darvish explained that the per-kilowatt-hour structure provides a five-cent buffer above the town's $0.35 break-even electricity cost to cover network fees and processing costs, ensuring the stations operate without town subsidy.

The Board also approved a one-day liquor license for Fletcher's Fall Festival on October 11 and voted unanimously to move the Fall Special Town Meeting to December 1 at 7:00 PM at Longmeadow High School, following verbal confirmation from the Massachusetts School Building Authority extending the town's funding deadline for a Center School windows project.
