Select Board raises sewer rates, approves pin oak removals

Longmeadow Select Board raises sewer and stormwater rates for fiscal 2027. The board voted 5-0 to increase the sewer fixed meter rate 25 percent while decreasing the variable rate 12 percent and setting stormwater at $1,132 per equivalent residential unit with an annual rate of $135.81. The board also voted unanimously to allow removal of two Pin Oak trees at 32 Longmeadow Street due to construction damage and safety concerns identified by Tree Warden and Conservation Agent Leah Wallner.

In committee appointments, the board added Ethan Kendrick to the Conservation Commission for one year, Matthew Delson to the DEI Advisory Committee for three years, and Gary Gay to the Historic District Commission as an alternate.
