Longmeadow Select Board approves winter work exception for Eversource gas projects. The board unanimously endorsed a waiver of the town's Winter Work Moratorium, allowing Eversource to conduct natural gas line replacements on Birchwood and Massachusetts Avenue in a 5-0 vote. The motion was made by Dan Zwirko and seconded by Vineeth Hemavathi, with conditions from the Department of Public Works and Public Safety governing hours of operation and traffic management.
The board also received an update on the Western Drive water main and sewer rehabilitation project, slated to begin in early April 2026 with over 12,000 feet of aging water mains to be replaced.
