Tree Committee Advances Tree Protection Bylaw, Earns Award Recognition

Longmeadow Tree Committee advances draft tree-protection bylaw, receives Tree City Award recognition. The Committee is developing the bylaw with a UMass graduate student, with a draft expected in May and a potential warrant article at Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 Town Meeting. Tree Warden Leah Wallner also reported submission of a Cooling Corridors Grant Application to plant 65 trees along Bliss Road, Laurel Street, and Williams Street, with results expected in July.
