Longmeadow Tree Warden denies removal of six Public Shade Trees for middle school project. Tree Warden Leah Wallner held a March 26 hearing at 410 Williams Street on removal of three trees at that location and three at 458 Williams Street, all proposed by the middle school project team to accommodate roadway widening. Wallner determined that construction would unacceptably damage the trees' root systems, increasing risk of failure and mortality.
Four letters of objection were received prior to the hearing, prompting the Tree Warden's complete denial of the removal request.
