LONGMEADOW — Woolworth Street will be permanently closed between Williams Street and the Williams Middle School parking lot starting Saturday, Sept. 26, to make way for construction of the new Longmeadow Middle School, the town announced Sept. 18.

TOWN HALL

The town's News Flash traffic advisory says the closure begins at 7 a.m. on Sept. 26 and covers the stretch of Woolworth Street between Williams Street and the Williams Middle School parking lot. The closure is tied directly to construction of the new Longmeadow Middle School and is expected to be permanent, not a temporary detour, meaning residents and commuters who use that stretch of road should plan alternate routes going forward.
