LONGMEADOW — The Longmeadow School Committee learned the district's fiscal year 2027 Fair Share earmark grew to $110,000, up from $75,000 last year. The funds will go toward building access systems, water bottle filling stations and replacement Apple TV devices across classrooms. Clerk Kate Bean reported that the Lower Pioneer Valley Educational Collaborative's CTE director/principal search drew 22 applicants and six interviews but advanced no candidate, citing a statewide shortage of dually licensed professionals: "There currently are only three people in the state that have both a director and principal license." Bean also noted roughly 90 citations issued in about a month for drivers illegally passing stopped school buses, prompting a review of camera vendor bids.
The committee unanimously approved its October 13 minutes, a five-item building-use consent agenda, and adjournment, and reviewed draft 2026-2027 district goals covering curriculum, policy, finance and community engagement ahead of a future adoption vote.
