Select Board · Meeting of March 2, 2026
Longmeadow's Select Board declared two golden retrievers a public nuisance after a decade of complaints from a yacht club. The board voted 5-0 to designate dogs "Junior" and "Meno," owned by Son Vo and Tuyet Nguyen of 294 Anthony Road, as nuisance animals, ordering a six-foot stockade fence by May 1, a signed fence contract by March 20, and licensing of all three of the family's dogs by month's end. Pioneer Valley Yacht Club Vice Commodore Mary Breeding said the dogs "damaged the car of at least one of our members by jumping up on the car." Chair Josh Levine called the decade-long pattern "mind-boggling." Separately, Finance Director Ian Coddington outlined a proposed 13 percent water rate increase for fiscal 2027, and engineer Michael Nelson said the town should start saving $10 million toward replacing its 1964 water tank.
